Looking back at my life,
I see joy,
I see pain.
I see loss,
I see gain.
There have been accomplishments,
as well as failures.
I am happy, I think.
But when I look back..
I also see those dreams..
that I’ve let go.
Does that make us happier?
Having less dreams?
Having less goals?
It doesn’t, does it?
Part of us still wants to go after those dreams
to make them happen.
But the other part, the comfort zone yearning part of us,
simply quiets it down.
You are happy it says, why bother?
It’s impossible it says, why try?
We forget our dreams. We get used to being in that zone.
But remember the dreaming part of us never dies.
It might shut down for a while,
but it’ll wake up.
Though it might be too late by then.
